Timothey W. Redford

Timothey W. Redford, of Kansas City, MO, passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2026. Timothey, known as “Tim” or “Timmy” throughout his life, was born on March 03, 1969 in Jackson County, MO to parents David W. Redford and Sharon Kaye Coates. Tim was the fourth child for David and the second for Sharon. Tim began his primary and secondary education in the Blue Springs, MO area but would graduate from Raytown High School in 1989 in Raytown, MO. Tim enrolled in Longview Community College, completing several semesters before deciding on a different career aspiration. Tim completed the requirements and became an international flight attendant with TWA Airlines, jet-setting the globe and sharing fantastic stories of far off places with friends and family. Tim later entered the healthcare field as an LPN, working in both the hospital and hospice settings. His true calling was the medical field as he cared deeply for his patients and mourned their loss when they passed. Tim was also afforded the very rare opportunity of escorting veterans for their ‘Honor Flight’ to Washington, D.C., a journey he did several times. This meant the world to Tim and became one of the most honorable events in his career, if not lifetime. Tim did this work for several years before retiring and searching for his next career. However, in the fall of 2023, Tim developed a paralyzing spinal infection and encountered numerous medical obstacles as a result. Tim fought bravely for years to overcome debilitating issues but his zest for life never wavered. Tim enjoyed flowers and the beauty they create. He loved gardening books and being able to learn the benefits of various plants, flowers, and trees. He later developed an interest in birds and enjoyed watching them from his window, eating from the feeder and identifying them by sight. Tim also thoroughly enjoyed doing arts and crafts. For Christmas last year, he hand-made several presents, but due to his medical condition, it took him several days to finish. Tim also loved being outside, going for rides in his wheelchair while others walked. He loved spending time with people, reminiscing about his childhood and the funny memories he shared with siblings. A few of those memories involved 4-wheelers and flying, burning marshmallows. Others included wiggling worms on a hook and a screeching Tim. Tim loved to laugh and those memories always cheered him up on cloudy days. Tim recalled the amazing friends he had growing up and the friends he made during his years in the healthcare field. He absolutely adored his friends as they meant the world to him. Tim loved his family and his family loved him. His family spent a great deal of time with him, taking him on different outings where his wheelchair could navigate, from apple orchards to casinos. Tim will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know and love him. But, he will definitely never be forgotten as he is a ‘one-of-a-kind’ and no one can take his place. Tim was preceded in death by his father, David Redford; mother, Sharon Coates; half-brother, David Redford; half-sister, Denise Williams; nephew, Austin Cline; and nephew, Lance Wilson. Tim is survived by sister, Roxanne Redford, of Trenton, MO; her children, McKenzie Haak of Garden City, MO; and Zoie Merideth of Kansas City, MO; and great nieces, Emmi Denney and Avary Denney, both of Garden City, MO; brother, Mark Redford and his wife, Christie Redford of Kansas City, MO; their children; Caleb Redford and Cassidy Cline of Kansas City; Caitlin Osborne and her husband, Ethan Osborne of Lewisburg, WV; and great nephews Ace Osborne and Landon Cline, both of WV; sister Trish Redford-Roath of Kansas City, MO; and her children, Jadey Redford and Kris Roath; sister Lynn Wilson and her husband, Kurt Wilson, of Kansas City, MO; nephew James Williams of AZ; nephew Jason Johnston of SC; niece Kerry Redford of TX. Per Tim’s final wishes, a small, private family event will be held to honor his memory.
