Shirley Christine Vansel-Chiles BIRTH November 28, 1952 DEATH 25 Nov 2022 (age 69) Shirley Christine Vansel-Chiles, died Nov 25, 2022, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Nursing Home, Concordia, MO. Shirley was born in Benton County to Delmar “Tuffy” Vansel and Oney Ellen Moser-Berkenbile She attended Sherwood School in Creighton, MO. Married Larie Roland Johnson Sr in 1968/1969 and later divorced. She had two children, Teresa Rena Johnson-McCarty and Larie Roland Johnson Jr. She worked at a sewing factoring in Pleasant Hill, MO. She also waitressed. She made amazing fried chicken and seamstress she could reupholster furniture. Married John Willard Chiles Sr in Jackson County on March 8, 1974 and they were married for 38 amazing years until John passed away. In her marriage to John she gained a Stepson David William (Susan) Chiles and three more children. Stephanie Denise Chiles passed away as an infant, John Willard Chiles Jr, and Danial Lee (Melody) Chiles. She was a homemaker, while living in KC she also worked at the Royal stadium on occasion severing the crowd. When they moved to Blue Springs, she also worked at Saint Mary’s Nursing Home in the laundry department. Eventually they made their home in Deepwater next to Truman Lake where the family enjoyed lots of fishing and deer hunting. Making memories and time with the little ones, she loved her family and the more the marrier. She enjoyed her coffee, cigarettes and her beer. She knew how to handle a snapping turtle and catfish. She loved every minute and laughed, so many great memories and too many to list. Siblings: Denise Lee “Denny / Mo” Moser, Charles Delmar Vansel Sr Passed away 2009, Aubrey James Vansel Passed away 2020, Roger Dale Vansel, Juanita Ellen Vansel-King, John Edward “Eddy” Vansel, Joseph LeRoy Vansel, Earnest Alonzo “Al” Vansel, and Katy May Vansel-Johnson. Grandchildren 12: David (Robyn / Susan) Chiles: Amanda Chiles, Amber Chiles, Cory Chiles, Michael Enyart, Jess Chiles, and Conor Chiles. Teresa (Paul) Johnson-McCarty: Dylan McCarty and Tyler McCarty. Dan (Beth / Tiffany) Chiles: Christina (Crissy) Chiles, Zachary Chiles, and Nathan Chiles. Larie Johnson Jr (Christina Rogers): Brandon Rogers. 10 great grandchildren. John Willard Chiles Sr and Shirley Christine Vansel-Chiles ashes will be placed together in the wall at the Veteran Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo on Friday Dec 9, 2022 at 3pm. Address is 20109 Business Highway 13, Higginsville, MO 64037. Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. John was born Aug. 8, 1948. Survived by his wife, Shirley, and 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father Jess Chiles and Mother Eleanor Hinkel-Sweaney and Brother David Author Chiles.
