Monika Burkhart

Monika Burkhart, age 50, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on August 10, 2019 and was reunited with her beloved horse Zahara in heaven. Monika had been battling breast cancer for the past several months. The treatment was showing signs of success and had reduced the tumor by half after just two treatments! Unfortunately, Monika had a severely adverse reaction to the treatment she was receiving and Monika's health began to decline rapidly due to this. Monika was born to Jakob and Gertrude Morr in Miesenbach, Germany on April 6, 1969. Monika is preceded in death by her father Jakob Morr. Monika is survived by her mother Gertrude Morr of Miesenbach, Germany. Monika's three siblings Doris Weber (sister) of Rutsweiler am Glan, Germany. Karin Wenz (sister) and Gerhard Wenz (spouse) of Miesenbach, Germany. Jurgen Morr (brother) and Sigrid Morr (spouse) of Muhlbach am Glan, Germany. Monika had one daughter Jasmin Wood and Alexander Wood (spouse). Three grandchildren Donavinn Wood (grandson), Avariella Wood (granddaughter) and Azaleigha Wood (granddaughter) of Higginsville, Missouri. Monika is also survived by her partner of 17 years Joe Burkhart his two children,one grandchild, two nephews/grandsons and one niece/granddaughter. Adam Burkhart (son) and Alex Burkhart (grandson) of Lexington, Missouri. Alicia Burkhart (daughter) and Beau Gassen (spouse), Trustin Schieber(nephew/grandson) Johnny Schieber(nephew/grandson) and Charlie Schieber (niece/granddaughter) of Lexington, Missouri. Monika wanted to be remembered for her kind, compassionate, creative and free spirit. Her ability to bring joy, laughter and a lending hand to those around her. She had a deep love for nature and the outdoors. She was most compassionate about her love for animals - especially for her beloved dog (Cort) and her horses (Ziggy and Gizmo). Monika also enjoyed horseback riding, crocheting, artistry, canning, cooking and chatting with her friends and family. Monika will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
