Linda Marie Suckiel

Linda M. Suckiel passed away peacefully after a difficult fight with cancer on 01/02/2026 in the excellent care of Kansas City Hospice House. She was 65 years old. Linda was attended to by her life partner Rick McNack, her friend Linda Gould and family members. Linda M. Suckiel was a life long Kansas Citian, born in St. Mary’s Hospital on 11/14/1960 to her loving parents Anthony Robert Suckiel and Catherine Irenę (Konieczka)Suckiel. She was the youngest of six living children but to be sure she would not be constrained by her five older siblings. A free spirit with a sparkling smile that hinted at her big heart and a love of life. Graduate of St Catherine’s grade school, Bishop O’Hara high school and the University of Central Missouri State. Linda earned a BS degree in business administration with a minor in social work. A life long lover of sports, Linda won the high Jump at the Junior Olympics and played on the O’Hara conference champion volleyball team. Maintaining her love of sports throughout her life she attended KC’s baseball, football and hockey team games. After College she worked for the Missouri Social service where she was honored with an award for “making positive changes support of those in need.” Linda always opened her heart to those in society living on the edge showing compassion and empathy to all those around her. A cradle to the grave practicing Catholic, she leaned on her faith, family and spiritual devotions to help her overcome the demons of her middle years. After her father’s passing in 2004 she attended to her mother till she passed in 2011 whereupon she became close to mom’s sister, praying the rosary with her daily over a long distance call. Linda became a postal worker, which is where she met her partner and love of her life, Rick McNack. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and survived by Rick McNack , her friend Linda Gould, her five siblings Robert Anthony Suckiel (Diana), MaryLynn Suckiel (Bryan Wakat), Lauren Marie Hoffman (Jim). Karen Marie Floersch (Mike) and Janice Marie Suckiel (Jeff Moore). Throw in eight nieces and nephews, eleven grand nieces and nephews and lots of cousins. “Happy the pure of heart: they shall see God” Matthew chapter 5, verse 8 Linda M. Suckiel’s Celebration of Life will be on Friday 01/30/2026 at St. Thomas More. Visitation at 10:00 am and service at 10:30 with reception to follow.
