JIM FLOOD Branson, MO — James Flood, 81, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 5:5 7pm at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO after a short illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joann (Lazarowicz) Flood; his son, Mike (Jan), St. Louis, MO; his daughter, Liz Rippee, Hartville, MO; his son Pete (Teresa) of Ozark, MO; his son Chris (Nancy), Denton, TX; his daughter, Jill Hoersten, Plano, TX; 10 grandchildren, Michael Rippee (Jill); Meagan Rippee Martinez (Chris); Tess Flood; Stephen Rippee; Courtney Flood; Shelby Flood; Nicki Flood; George Hoersten; Dan Flood; and Naomi Hoersten; and two great-grandchildren, Thomas and Ella Rippee; 4 sisters, 2 brothers, numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends. Born in Benton Harbor, MI on November 10, 1933 to Frank and Ida Flood, Jim graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1950. Jim then enlisted in the Air Force to serve during the Korean War. Jim and Jo married on May 12, 1956. He was an active member of our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church where he was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Jim graduated from University of Michigan in 1962, and worked his whole career – 35 years – for Ford Motor Company in Dealer Development. Jim was an avid sports fan and loved baseball regardless of time of day, time of year or city. He would fondly watch an historic game, as well as loved attending spring training. Jim and Jo retired in 1993 to Branson, MO. His favorite place in the world is sitting on Dock 2 on Table Rock Lake watching the sunset. Jim chose to donate his body to the University of Kansas Medical School, Kansas City, KS; therefore, a Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 203 Vaughn Road, Branson, MO 65616. An Open House Celebration of Jim’s life follows at Sunset Cove Club House, 3-6pm, 172 Sunset Cove, Branson, MO 65616. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made directly to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Building Fund, 203 Vaughn Road, Branson, MO 65616 or the charity of their choice.
