Fredrick Scott Plowman

Fredrick “Scott” Plowman, born, May 30th, 1968, went to heaven the morning of Tuesday, October 31st, 2023, after eating breakfast. Scott had a passion for life and being an entrepreneur at heart, ran small businesses in the past several years including wedding videographer, web page designer, limousine driver and designed and created EDC tactical bags. He loved to design; he just couldn’t get motivated enough to produce many. In his early 20’s he started his own business as a bail bondsman and bounty hunter in Johnson County, KS including tracking down and taking bail skips. This by far made for an excellent evening with close friends as they would practice beforehand his newly acquired taser on each other in the living room before heading out for the evening to hold stake outs and kick doors in of unsuspecting bail jumpers. The living room would be piled high with collateral and was a focal point when company came to visit, which was just about every day. He was one of the first in the area to have the first mobile phone bag. Somewhere in between the businesses he started, he was an iron worker, following in his father’s footsteps. In his younger years, you could find him cruising the Fe and getting in karate fights. He learned sign language and even moved in with a deaf roommate for a period. The older he got, the more opinionated he became and anyone who disagreed was just plain wrong and he’d let you know. An avid Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard fan, he picked up guitar and even took some voice lessons in his 40’s. He could do a dang good version of “Are the good times really over for good”. With a Pinterest account that included everything from “Hobo hand signs” to “How to measure daylight with your hand”, he was a sucker for puppies, kittens, babies, and anything American. In his later years he worked at Household Finance and later became a storm chaser. He was interviewed by Darla Jay the day Joplin Mo was hit by an EF5 tornado on May 22, 2011. He had such a passion for storm chasing he named his son after the sport. He eventually became a stay-at-home dad once his son was born. He had a passion for horticulture including tomatoes, peppers of all sorts and bonsai trees. He professed Jesus as his savior, was an excellent brother and friend, and precedes a beautiful wife Susan, a little boy who’s his spittin’ image, his momma Kathleen, sister Karmen, brother David, best friend Pete, nephew Max, uncles including his favorite, Uncle Lynn, aunts, cousins, and great friends who will miss him terribly but have assurance he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 18th at 11am at Faith Chapel Church 840 N Metcalf Rd, Louisburg, KS 66053 with lunch served after.
