David Wayne Peterman

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of David Wayne Peterman, a devoted husband, beloved dad, proud papa, and cherished friend. Dave passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025 surrounded by his family. Dave was married to the love of his life Debra for 51 wonderful years, and together they built a family and a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, love, and devotion. Dave was a man of great integrity and quiet strength. He found joy in the simple things — time spent with his family, a good story, a good laugh, listening to music, and the beauty of the outdoors. Whether camping with family, sitting by the campfire, traveling, or exploring nature, he found peace and joy in the outdoors. His easygoing spirit, kind heart, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His unwavering love for his wife and their family was at the center of everything he did. His family always came first and he did whatever he could to help his family. As a husband, Dave was a true partner — steadfast, patient, and deeply loving. As a father to David, Tisha, and Kristin, he offered wisdom, encouragement, support, love, and a sense of humor that made life brighter. And as a papa to Jalen, Garett, Andie, Rylie, and Braxton, he was endlessly proud, delighting in their laughter and accomplishments. There was nothing he loved more than watching his grandchildren participate in their sports and activities, cheering them on at every game, recital, concert, and event with unmatched pride. He cherished every moment with them whether it was one of their activities, building model cars, listening to music, watching movies, playing games, or sharing his life experiences with them about how he grew up. He loved being around his kids and grandkids and creating memories with them. Dave dedicated over 29 years of service to the City of Grandview, where he worked as a Code Enforcement and Animal Control Officer before retiring. He took great pride in his work and was respected by colleagues and community members alike for his fairness, professionalism, and commitment to making his town a better place. A passionate supporter of youth baseball, Dave dedicated many years as a coach, umpire, and board member for the Grandview Baseball Association. Dave shared his passion for baseball as a dedicated coach, inspiring and mentoring countless young athletes. His encouragement, sportsmanship, and belief in every player left a lasting impact both on and off the field. He was not only a coach, but also a role model whose lessons extended far beyond the game. Dave’s warmth and generosity touched everyone he met. He will be remembered not only for his devotion to his family but also for his gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and his signature giggle. He leaves behind his loving wife Debra, his three children David (Tammy), Tisha (Brooks), Kristin, five adoring grandchildren Jalen, Garett, Andie, Rylie, Braxton who will carry his memory in their hearts forever, and his brother Mike. Though he is no longer with us, his love will continue to guide and comfort those he leaves behind. Dave was preceded in death by his mother Sarah Loretta Lupton, his father Grover Arthur Peterman, and his brother Jack Peterman. A celebration of Dave’s life will be held Sunday, November 9th from 11:30 AM-2:30 PM at The Lumber Co. Event Space (109 E. Broadway St. Peculiar, MO) where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable man he was and the countless ways he enriched our lives.
