Cynthia "Cindy" Louise Fry

Cynthia “Cindy” Louise Fry was born on April 24, 1959, to Nancy and David Moe in Chicago, Illinois. Cindy moved to California when she was four years old and is the eldest of four girls. From a young age, Cindy had a curious, adventurous spirit. Growing up in Southern California, she lived on her bike. She would fondly reflect on her teenage years in Huntington Beach, California, when she rode her bike several miles every day. She would joke that she had calves of steel. She loved riding her bike to the beach and swimming in the ocean. The ocean always held a special place in her heart. Cindy graduated from Edison High School in Huntington Beach in 1977. Her family then moved to Big Bear, California. Where she then upgraded to motorized wheels with a heater, a Vega. Cindy was living in Desert Hot Springs, California, when her cousins introduced her to George Fry. They didn’t hit it off upon the first meeting, but a year later, when they met again, they both knew they had found their forever person. They began dating in February 1979 and then married on October 6, 1979. During their 46 years of marriage, they faithfully served Jehovah together and shared so many fond memories. In their 20s, they were in their country line-dancing era. They danced for several years and taught dance lessons. After 7 years of marriage, they decided to hang up their cowboy hats, settle down, and start a family. They welcomed Chance Richard Duane in 1985 and Caiyla Mackenzie in 1989. Cindy loved being a mom. She was known to throw the most epic kid parties that were equally fun for the adults. The most memorable kid party was an obstacle-course party that included parents spraying their kids with whipped cream, pouring syrup on their heads, and having the kids roll in gallons of ice. The kids got the parents back with water balloons, of course. She even bent the house rules and allowed squirt water guns in the house during these parties for surprise attacks. She knew how to let kids be kids. Cindy’s love of animals began at a young age. One of her first pet projects was raising yellow finches in her parents’ backyard. She bred them and sold the babies to local pet stores. Later on, she raised and bred bearded dragons to sell. Every day, she would receive a large box of live crickets via the postal service to feed her hungry dragons. A few crickets would always get loose in the house, leaving random sounds of chirping at all hours of the day. Over the years, Cindy added a rabbit, dogs, cats, sheep, chickens, a snake, guinea hens, and a squirrel to her collection. She truly was an animal lover. In 2001, Cindy and family moved from California to Missouri. Cindy was so excited about the prospect of owning land. And she got to live out that dream in Missouri, where she owned land and had the big girl's toys, as she used to call them, to use on the land. That being her beloved zero-turn lawn mower and tractor. She loved working outside on the land. Cindy had many passions throughout her life. She was an avid gardener in her thirties. She had the prettiest yard in the neighborhood. She planted a massive shade garden with overhead spray misters. She had a rose garden with a wide variety of unique roses. She had several topiaries in animal shapes that she meticulously maintained. And she had a big vegetable garden. She also loved to camp. Her favorite place to camp was Jalama Beach in California. She loved traveling in general, particularly to the Pacific Coast. She loved beachcombing and the drama of the big ocean waves year-round. She also loved to read. In her downtime, she was always reading. She also enjoyed learning and researching new topics on anything and everything. She was always interesting to talk to, because she loved sharing stuff she learned. Cindy also loved being hospitable. She found so much joy in giving to her friends, especially in hosting fun dinner parties. Above all, Cindy loved Jehovah. She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized in 1972. She always credited the success of her marriage and raising her kids to Jehovah. She loved teaching others about Jehovah. She had so many fond memories of her ministry. She also embraced informal witnessing, something she relied heavily on in her final days. Cindy leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 46 years, George Fry; her son, Chance Fry; her daughter, Caiyla Fry; her sister, Jennifer Bondy; her sister, Melanie Moe; her sister, Jolane Moe; and many other family members and friends who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. And of course, her beloved dog, Maizey, was her anniversary present to her husband. We look forward to seeing Cindy again in Paradise. Where she’ll be living out, her dream of being a flower farmer. We can’t wait to see what new varieties of flowers she’ll cultivate.
