Brian Osiek

Brian Osiek, 71, of Independence, MO passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026. Brian was born on November 17, 1954 to Eldred “Zeke” and Wilma Osiek. He grew up in Independence alongside his brother, Steve, and graduated from Truman High School in 1972. Brian began working in the parts department for a Ford dealership while still in high school and remained in that line of work throughout his entire career. Through hard work and dedication, he worked his way up and spent much of his career as a Parts Manager. For the last 13 years he had been employed with Bob Sight Ford in the parts department, where he valued the people he worked with and took pride in doing his job well. Brian spent nearly all of his adult life working for a Ford dealership, a reflection of his loyalty, strong work ethic, and dedication. Outside of work, Brian most enjoyed spending time with his wife, Sherry. Whether they were going on outings together, attending sporting events, horse shows for their granddaughter, or school performances for their grandchildren, he took great pride in supporting the people he loved. Brian was deeply involved in scouting while his children were young. He was an Eagle Scout, a Firebuilder in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, and served as Scoutmaster for his children’s troop, spending many summers at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation. He cared deeply about the values of scouting and enjoyed sharing those experiences with the young people he mentored. He will be remembered as a kind, generous man who was always willing to help others without being asked. Brian had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, often sharing jokes and stories that brought joy to those around him. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who could always be counted on. Brian is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; his children, Doug Pappan (Deanna), Kip Barker (Jacklyn), Jason Osiek (Andrea), Ryan Pappan (Amanda), and Sara Davidson (Brent); his grandchildren, Katlyn Lepper-Pappan (Heather), William Pappan, Ashton Barker, Tanner Barker, Gavin Barker, Corban Barker, Collin Osiek, Elaine Osiek, Abigale Stowe, Grayson Pappan, Hailey Davidson, Alexa Davidson; his great-grandson, Liam Lepper-Pappan; his brother, Steve Osiek (Donna); along with many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zeke and Wilma Osiek, and his in-laws, Bill and Georgia Pappan. Please join family and friends in a Celebration of Life for Brian at Timothy Lutheran Church, 301 E. Wyatt Road., Blue Springs, MO 64014, on Friday, June 5th, from 4 to 7 p.m. to remember and celebrate Brian and share favorite memories. Refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Brian’s memory to the American Heart Association.
