William (Bill) Kenneth Larimer

William (Bill) Larimer, age 61, a longtime resident of Camden Point, Missouri, died unexpectedly at St. Luke’s North Hospital Kansas City, surrounded by his family. Bill was born September 8, 1960 to James D. Larimer and Loretta Booz Larimer. Bill was the great grandson of early Hancock County pioneers on both his mother and father’s side. He attended school at Camden Point and graduated in 1978 from North Platte High School in Dearborn, Missouri. Bill earned his A&P Aircraft Mechanic certification at Aviation Kansas City at the downtown airport. Although his ambition was to be in aviation, Bill went into the hotel business and worked with Marriott Hotels for 13 years as Catering Director and Catering Manager. Bill attended and graduated from college at Western State University at which time his major was in Computer Science. For the past 27 years, Bill has been employed by SS&C-DST in operations as a Senior Systems Software Developer, Programmer/Analyst. Over the years, Bill has resided in Alexandria MO, Keokuk, Iowa and Camden Point, MO. Bill was united in marriage to Mary Larimer on June 24, 2009 in Maui, Hawaii. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary, of Camden Point, his daughters, Brandi Combs (Randy), Jessica Larimer, and Schayler Larimer, children with his former spouse Nancy (Larimer) Hopkins. Bill will be deeply missed by his three adoring grandchildren, Tylen Larimer, Daniel Combs and Gabriella Combs. Bill is also survived by his brothers, Michael Larimer of Weston, John Larimer of Camden Point, and sister, Paula Larimer of Smithville, and his nieces and nephews, Tommie Tedder, Dallas Tedder, Beau Larimer, Brittany Neal, James Larimer (Cheyanne) and Drake Beery (Thi Ta). Bill was preceded in death by his parents, James and Loretta Larimer, his sister, Sheila Larimer, and his granddaughter Harley Jeanne Combs. Bill was a member of the Camden Point Baptist Church. He was a man of faith and, together with Mary, he loved spending time traveling and being with family. He loved boating and enjoyed numerous weekends and fun outings at Smithville Lake with family and friends. Bill had many varied interests. He enjoyed working on cars and was especially fond of his 2013 Camaro. Everyone who visited his home was impressed by how Bill could “do it all.” He was especially skilled at cross stitch, woodworking, remodeling, restoration, refinishing, and upholstering furniture. Bill was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. May his loving memory live on in his children, grandchildren, and their families. Visitation and celebration of his life will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Camden Point Baptist Church 500 3rd St. Camden Point MO. Visitation will between 12:00-2:00 PM. Service following at 2:00 pm. Burial Procession to follow to Camden Point Cemetery
