Richard Andrew Pryor Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Richard Andrew Pryor Jr, known to many as Oz, age 59, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Centerpoint Medical Center after a brief illness. Richard was born on August 18, 1962 in Kansas City, MO. He was the son of Richard Pryor Sr. and Sharon Skinner. He attended Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, KS. Richard joined the Army in 1979 and was stationed in Germany for 14 months. He received an honorable medical discharge in 1981. After his discharge from the Army he was a foreman for a water tower sandblasting crew. Over the next several years he was an over the road truck driver with his brothers Gary and Mike. He eventually went to work as a foreman for City Construction Services, LLC for 25 years before going on disability. Richard loved everything motorcycles, from riding in extreme cold temperatures to fixing and building them. He also loved music with Primus and Frank Zappa being two of his favorites. He loved going to the casino and it seemed to be a very profitable hobby for him. Richard was a creature of habit and loved eating at Leeds Diner. He was known as the Mayor of Leeds by many. He lived life to the fullest with a heart of gold and would do anything to help those in need. Richard was preceded in death by his father and mother; two brothers, Jeffrey Pryor and Samuel Pryor, three step-brothers, Gary Skinner, Terry Skinner and Michael Skinner and the love of his life, Deborah. Richard’s survivors include sister, Michelle Felker, brother, Mark Skinner, step father, Jack Skinner, step-brother Tim Skinner and aunt, Vicki Vickers. Dietrich & Shelly Foxworthy, Duke Moore, Michelle Stevens, Don Nicholson and Art Quigg are a few of the many friends that will miss his presence in their lives. There will be a celebration of life for Oz on July 16th at 3:00 at his home, 3609 Fuller.
