Pauline Gertrude Berry Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Pauline Gertrude Berry, 70, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on the night of August 3, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on July 18, 1952 in Mannheim, Germany to her parents, Saul Palmer and Freda Gertrude Palmer. She was preceded in death by her father, Saul Palmer and his wife, Charlotte; twin sister, Rev. Paulette Palmer; daughter, Yolanda Palmer; stepmother, Betty June Lewis; and brother, Saul Palmer, Jr. Pauline has been a resident of Kansas City, Missouri for 53 years and was a 1971 graduate of Paseo High School. She held positions with a variety of employers throughout her lifetime. Pauline was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer in 2021, yet continued working part-time as a home care provider for Assisting Hands Touching Hearts Home Care Services until her hospitalization on July 16, 2022. Pauline also cherished her long-time position as an Avon Sales Representative, which allowed her to meet many interesting people and form many lasting friendships. Pauline was a believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved the Lord and worshipped at The Words of This Life Church, under the leadership and counsel of Pastor De Rey Penny. She especially enjoyed tuning into Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and found great solace and comfort in the music and messages of the broadcast. Family members will miss the daily memes and inspirational messages she would text on a regular basis. Pauline had a wonderful sense of humor which she readily shared, and a “feisty” temper which she was also not shy in sharing. She was generous to all who knew her and will be missed by so many. Her husband, Joe, shared that Pauline’s favorite color was yellow and her subconscious favorite color was red. Pauline was much loved, her memory will be cherished, and she will be missed by many. Pauline is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Berry of Kansas City, Missouri; her son, Saul Palmer (Andrea) of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren – N’ya Fritz of Columbia, Missouri; Tye Morris of Richmond, Virginia; and Vierra Palmer of Kansas City, Kansas; her niece, Dayna Palmer and great nephew Marquon Christian of Kansas City, Missouri; her niece, Michelle Lee of Renton, Washington and her nephew, Derrick Palmer of Auburn, Washington; her mother-in-law Almeta Mantley of Kansas City, Missouri, two brothers – Carl Nichols (Audrey) of Little Rock, Arkansas and Clarence Palmer of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters – Helaine Williams (Dre’) of Little Rock, Arkansas; Sibylle Palmer of Seattle, Washington; Sudie (Howard) Hayford of Kent, Ohio; her widowed sister-in-law Vicky Palmer and family; and a host of additional nieces, nephews, and cousins in Auburn, Washington; Detroit, Michigan; Kansas City, Missouri; Little Rock, Arkansas; Mannheim, Germany; Monroe, Louisiana; Richmond, Virginia; Renton, Washington; and Seattle, Washington. Due to COVID concerns and restrictions, a private family memorial and Celebration of Pauline’s Life will be scheduled for August 3, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to St. Luke’s Hospice House – 3516 Southwest Trafficway – Kansas City, MO 64111.
