Lawrence (Larry) Dannels Phinney Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lawrence (Larry) Phinney passed at his home in Kansas City, Missouri May 28th 2021. He was born to Goldie Kress and Arnold Phinney in Hawk Springs, Wy in Jan 1941. He served 3 years in the Navy, mostly in the South China Sea in the early 1960’s. He retired from Midland Litho after 34 years in which he gained several long time friendships. Larry was a man’s man, he was very skilled in concrete, wood, steel, welding, glass etching and design, then creating those designs and making them come to vision. Whenever he had a problem he could not solve, he would call his friend Bob. Larry was always quick to help those in need of his abilities and skills. Larry often stated “3rd time’s a charm” in referring to his 40 years of marriage to Kathy. Everyone that saw his favorite t-shirt, a gift from a very special friend, that said “ I’m not bossy i just have better idea’s” agreed he was a great doer, but not a great helper, he had to be in charge. He was preceded in death by both his parents, sister, daughter in law and sister in law. He is survived by his wife Kathy of the home, two sons Larry and Troy, and one daughter Dena, 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews including Kayleigh and Logan of whom he considered to be his shining lights in the latter part of his life. Left to grieve with Kathy are brother in law Bryon and wife Jen with whom they spent every saturday night with, their beloved dog and cat Kala and Mai-Mai, many other family, long time friends Dennis, Darlene,Carrie, Christine and Pat, many more other good friends and neighbors. No services per Larry's request.
