Lana Rae Bailey Jester Lana Rae Bailey Jester, 73, of Kansas City, Missouri and Erie, Illinois, formerly of Dahinda, Illinois, Galesburg, Illinois, Raytown, Missouri and Fairfield, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home in Kansas City on May 23, 2021 surrounded by her husband and daughters, under the care of Saint Luke’s Hospice Care. Lana was born on June 19, 1947 in Fairfield, Iowa to Theo Lloyd Bailey and Doreen Marie Bailey. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1965 and married Charles William Jester on January 7, 1967. Lana owned and operated the Hairbender beauty shop in Independence, Missouri from 1972 to 1986. She then operated the beauty salon in the Galesburg Towers in Galesburg, Illinois from 1987 to 2007. She loved to travel and spend as much time as possible with family and friends. She made connections with people everywhere she went. She had a very generous heart, was accepting of everyone, and always there for others. She was a strong Christian. She volunteered in some capacity most of her life in many different roles for many groups such as Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, PTA President, Sunday school teacher, church youth group leader, and many more. She was truly Super Mom. She always worked and somehow managed to get everything done and be at everything for her daughters. She also considered many others as her “kids” by showing support and fulfilling needs. She was known as Mom, Grandma, Nana, Aunt Lana, Crazy Aunt Lana, Mama Lana, Little Mama and many more. She touched the lives of so many. She is survived by her husband, Charles Jester of Erie, Illinois and Kansas City, Missouri, her daughters, Heather (Jack) Foster of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Haley (Ryan) Mott of Kansas City, Missouri, her 5 grandchildren, John, Owen, Clara, Lola, and Ruby, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. A private memorial was held June 11, 2021 at the Lake of the Ozarks with immediate family. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place at a later time when it is safe for all to gather.
