Jason Wingate

January 30, 1977 - October 11, 2021

Jason Wingate, a former Chicago area & Chesterton Indiana resident and US Marine, passed away in his current home town of Kansas City Missouri on October 11, 2021. Jason was a fun and adventure seeking father of Eamon and Hazel - his greatest loves and accomplishments. He sought to instill a simple life for them - filled with laughter, compassion and kindness to all. Jason's passing was felt most by his mother Susan Wingate. They had an understanding of one another - and would seek each other's advice and share jokes. His siblings - Alena, Alicia, Alex and Grayson will miss their attentive big brother who always took an interest in what was important to them. Greeting him in heaven are Dad Dale Wingate, Grandpa Donald Steinbach, and father David Lyons. Jason loved his grandmother Mary Steinbach and shared many drinks and laughs with his aunts, uncles and cousins. Jason was a simple man and never sought material items. He would give someone in need his last nickle and was especially charitable with his time. Hollie and his many friends valued Jason's loyalty and friendship. Jason loved the outdoors, organizing bike races, & bringing friends together. A celebration of Jason's life for his local friends will be held at his home at 5544 E 53 St, Kansas City, MO 64130 on Saturday October 23, 2021 3pm-8pm. AND Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11am at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood IL 60421 with a luncheon to follow at Stone City VFW Post 2199, 124 Stone City Drive, Joliet, Illinois 60436.
