Forrest "Jay" Bristow

March 14, 1947 - February 26, 2021

Forrest “Jay” Bristow, 73, passed away February 26, 2021. He was born March 14, 1947 to Margaret and Robert Bristow. Jay graduated from Northeast High School in 1965. He served in the US Navy from 1965-1969 and served on aircraft carrier USS America. He retired from Teamsters Local 955 and worked as a security guard for the Kansas City Chiefs after retirement. He was a tax preparer and known as “The Tax Man” for 40 years. Jay enjoyed drinking his coffee, reading the newspaper and working the crossword puzzle every day. He loved getting together with family to watch the Chiefs games and celebrate birthdays. His favorite movie was Pulp Fiction and loved listening to Janis Joplin and The Beatles, he loved motorcycles. Jay was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, of 52 years, Sue Ann Bristow; daughter Lori Osgood; Todd Osgood (son in law); son, Michael Bristow, Jenny Bristow (daughter in law); grandchildren, Nathan Osgood, Garrett Osgood and Chloe Bristow; great granddaughter Heavenly Osgood. He was the best husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle and friend. He was loved by all and will be missed every day. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00-5:00pm April 10, 2021, at the home, 400 N. Home Ave, Independence, MO 64053
