He left the battle and came home to his family as a hero on November 17, 1967. A short trip to New Mexico to meet the love of his life. His forever and only Jane. They were married in 1970 and forever and always even when she was taken to heaven in 1999. They raised five children together. He spent his life loving and caring for all especially his grandchildren, Dawn who will see him once again in heaven, Bobby and Christopher, Tricia, Kyle, Luis, Krystal, Tommy and Marissa. They hold fast to his memories as they have a special place for him in their hearts. His grandsons follow his footsteps with their Military careers. Marissa holds her best friend (papa) forever. Work hard and have fun, be smart and be good will always be on their mind. As those are his most famous words ever. There are greats alongside this great man David as he has great grandchildren. Christian, Maddox and Chase. Robert, Dawn Marie, Olivia and Monica. This Legacy continues with his name as a foundation. And may it continue to grow. Texas will always be his special place. The countless memories and stories off all the Aunts and Uncles, cousins and the close friends of family were and always will be a great chapter in all of our lives. He would always share his deepest thoughts and love for all. Work and supporting his family was important from, Managing Trailways and Walmart as part of his journey. Owning a bar and the fun that came with it. Friendships and family were always a big part of all he did. Traveling the country delivering cars. Even his children joined those travels creating memories that would always stay in our hearts. Mostly he played a big part in all his children’s school activities. From Him and Mom volunteering all their free time to boosters and coaching sports. Always coming to the rescue with love and a lecture. Kansas City Chiefs will always be the best. He unofficially coached the team and called all the right plays. We will always make his food masterpieces. His food warmed our bellies and brought us together as it always will. We will miss you Dad (Aka.Papa) watch over us. Keep Mama close we will see you guys someday. Not today but very soon.
