Cynthia Lee Shannon

Cynthia Lee “Cindy” Shannon, 64, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at home. Cindy passed peacefully in her sleep. Cindy was born in Madras, Oregon, on December 23, 1955, to Joan Elizabeth (Ayers) Dinnel and James Wayne “Jay” Dinnel. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers Robbin Cline Dinnel and Rodney Laine Dinnel, paternal grandparents Eula Samantha (Dixon) Dinnel and Hugh Dinnel, maternal grandparents Ida Lee (Turner) Passentino and Frank Ayers. She is survived by her husband, Bo S. Shannon, daughters Brandé Michelle (Gott) Scott and husband Patrick, Danielle Rae (Carter) Bingham and husband Ryan, siblings Johna Lee Bobier and Richard Allen Bobier, Jr., aunt Gloria Robertson Spear, grandchildren Michael Patrick French and wife Amanda, Stephan Kross Gott and fiancée Lindsey, Cami Carter Bingham, Kyler Patrick Longhofer, great granddaughter Charlie Kross Gott, great grandsons Ryland and Hunter French, and many other relatives and close friends. Cindy married Bo during a blue moon on July 31, 2015, in Polo, Missouri, lived in Kansas City, Missouri, and were baptized in the Christian faith on August 8, 2020, in Cameron, Missouri. They enjoyed music, attending many live-music concerts in Kansas City, Nashville, Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco. Their love of music was a binding thread that dated back to the early 1970s when they began dating and listening to Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan during their high school years. Cindy and Bo rekindled their love and renewed their relationship when they met again at a Lexington, Missouri High School class reunion on August 23, 2014, and subsequently married on July 31, 2015 in Polo, Missouri. Cindy loved life and has the following memories that are best expressed in her own words that follow: Things I have loved so much in my lifetime… The hot sun beating down on my face and my feet in the sand Rocking all of my babes and smelling their neck of baby lotion Mowing and smelling the fresh cut grass Getting a name off a tree at Christmas for my special angels Seeing my children with a truly happy smile on their faces Being found and so loved by my Bo Raising hell with my peeps Cooking everyone’s favorite Thanksgiving dinner Singing Black Diamond Bay with my 4ever man Seeing the wonderful work of pics and frames Bo has done throughout the years… So proud Making REAL friends A clean house Finding God and giving myself totally to Him Memories of G-ma Eula Concerts and live music Get my hair brushed Watching my Bo enjoying a huge-ass cigar The look on my babes faces when they are truly glad to see me Aggravating as it is sometimes, I love it when my babes call me Momma The hot wind in my face on the back of a bike Knowing my buddies truly love me Riding with my Bo thru the country roads to our tree with the freedom to pee outside Listening to the Band with my BFF Getting lost in a parking lot with my AB Changing clothes in the car with my Parner Dancing When my favorite granddaughter-in-law Lindsey smiles…One of the cutest smiles ever Seeing our Cami finally safe and happy Seeing the kids in their school programs and music programs Brandé singing Don't Go Breaking My Heart Danielle rewinding the cassette 100x to Katmandu Stephan in his little cowboy suit singing Bad to The Bone Teaching most of my babes about Bobby D The smell of a new puppy Selling everyone's sh!t NYE at The Landing Listening to Danielle and Krystl cuss up a storm at the age of 5 Charlie… Plain, simple, innocent Charlie Riding with Linda in that shiny mustang Watching the kids pull a bass boat behind the 4-wheeler in the snow Watching my Cami Cam and my Ky be born Laying with my G-ma Eula as a child and her arm around me. I would ask her not to let go all night…she never let go Watching the Last Waltz with my Bo... Seeing all the amazing bands that we have seen in six years... Remember babe, without change, there would be no butterflies Grateful for my Aunt Gloria Cindy is lovingly remembered and mourned by family and friends from many walks of life. This amazing woman will be truly missed by all. No services are scheduled at this time.
