Clarence Owen VanZant

February 12, 1958 - January 2, 2021

Clarence Owen VanZant, 62, passed away peacefully, at K.C. Hospice House, on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri, after years of battling bladder cancer. Clarence was preceded in death by his grandmother, Annie Pilkinton, his father, Bernie J. VanZant, his mother, Lois G. Bryant (Pilkinton), and his brother, Andy E. VanZant. He is survived by his sister, Smantha Maggard (VanZant), his three children, Heather, Amber and Joshua, his two grandchildren MsZayah and Azasay, and several cousins. Clarence loved everything the outdoors had to offer. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino. He loved classic cars and motorcycles. He was a loving Father and proud Grandfather, who was able to spend his final years with his daughters and grandchildren nearby. He was hard-headed and always spoke his mind, yet never passed up an opportunity to help anyone who was in need. He will be greatly missed, by us all. A Celebration of Life will be held sometime this Summer, near Springfield, MO.
