Sean Paul Bryan

Sean Paul Bryan was born on May 10, 1978 in Clinton, IA. and lived in the Kansas City area from a young age. He passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Research Medical Center on February 5, 2023. Sean was the son of Jim and Diane Bryan. Sean was an incredible competitor and athlete at Park Hill High School, graduating in 1996. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1998 after playing 3rd base at Maple Woods Community College where his team went to the 1998 NJCAA World Series. Sean loved sports, but his greatest love was his beautiful daughter, Olivia. Sean had family and friends that all adored him through many ups and downs. As one of his friends so eloquently described, addiction stole his mind, but his heart always remained so good. There are countless people that will miss Sean and his boisterous laugh, his huge heart, and great humor. He was larger than life. Always wanting to save others when what we desperately wanted was for him to save himself. Sean’s last act on earth was donating his organs to two people waiting for such a match. He would have been so proud to have had a positive and lasting impact. You did it Buddy, you are a hero to two families. The nurses and staff at Research Medical Center Neurology ICU were absolutely incredible and cared for Sean with so much love. They fought hard along with him to make his wishes of being an organ donor happen. We are eternally grateful to each and every one of you. Sean is now free from the chains that bound him here on earth. His mind is clear and he is with his mama. Sean is survived by his daughter, Olivia Diane Bryan, his father, Jim Bryan (Kelley Bryan), sister, Theresa Garrett (Christi Driver), sister, Jeni Schriefels (Todd Schriefels), sister, Jaime Bryan, along with many friends, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Sean was preceded in death by his beloved mama, Diane Denise Bryan. Services will be held at the Northland Baptist church, 7101 NW Waukomis Drive | Kansas City, MO 64151, on February 17 at 1:00 PM.
