Randy Joe Harris

The year was 1955, Gun Smoke premeres on CBS, Peanut comic strip hits the stands, minumum wage was $1.00, gasoline was $0.29 a gallon and a dream comes true for Arile and Joyce Harris. A baby boy was born and they named him Randy Joe. Soon after he was joined by his brothers Ricky and Michael and little sis' Cheryl. The house was much a ruckuss during these years with frequnt wrestling and playing about. Randy grew to be an outstanding athlete in track and football during his youth. He was always a great son and older brother and eventually he went on to serve in the US Army in the 8th Infantry Division, stationed in Germany during the Vietman War conflict. Randy returned home to marry his high-school sweetheart, Janice Darrow in 1973. From this union the couple reared 3 children; Adam, Chad and Stacey. Randy would spend many hours playing with the kids and sometimes the occasional wrestling match would be in order. Everyone piled on Dad, just as in the days of his youth. Randy was always up for an adventure. He enjoyed road trips, fishing, camping, telling ghost stories, relic hunting, shooting, hiking, mushroom hunting, anything you wanted to do he was ready to go, unless you wanted to go swimming! Randy's carrer was something that meant a lot to him and to who he was. He worked for Costentio's for 20+ years in Security/Loss Prevention. In this role he protected the store and employees from theft and harm. In time, Randy's children grew and he was blessed again with 6 grandchildren. The first being Kaleb, Brenden, Matthew, then Brayla, Gloria and last but not least, Julia. Being a Dad and Grandpa was his greatest Honor. Randys best friend and loving companion, Ruth was his biggest supporter and encourager. Where ever you saw Randy, you saw Ruth by his side. Randy was a Christian man that was blessed with all the fruits of the Holy Spirit and the comfort Randy's pleasant soul gave to others, Ruth gave to him. Randy will be profoundly missed by many family and friends. We all love you! Rick and Pat, Mike and Lois, Cheryl, Adam and Sarah, Chad and Kyann, Stacey, Ruth, Kaleb, Matthew, Brenden, Brayla, Gloria and Julia.
