Pamela Denise Gabbert

Pamela Denise Gabbert passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at her home in Riverside, Missouri at the age of 61. She was born October 27, 1963, in Kansas City, Missouri.Pam was a dedicated and hard worker who adored her clients, customers, and their pet mascots. She worked in the dialysis field until making a career change for the automotive industry in the mid-1990s. She then worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts stores across the Kansas City Metro area as a cashier, delivery driver, and then became part of the trusted team that traveled around the Midwest to set up new stores for the company. After leaving O’Reilly, Pam worked in retail stores that aligned with her hobbies, including Petco and a garden shop in which her favorite co-worker was an 18” cockatoo. Pam then worked as an over-the-road driver with her brother, Ed Wilson, after graduating from Schneider Trucking Academy together. This was her favorite career as it gave her the freedom of the open road and the ability to travel the country! Pam ended her career working at Shawnee Mission Ford and U.S. Auto Force. Pam spent much of her time outside of work with family and friends, usually outside near a lake, river, or the ocean. She loved swimming, and many other outdoor hobbies like gardening, camping, canoeing and rafting, fishing, and foraging for morel mushrooms. In the winter months, she enjoyed indoor activities like baking, crocheting, and word searches. She always adored spending time with her beloved pets. Pam was a survivor. She lived a hard life and survived cancer once in her early twenties and twice more in later life. Thanks to Sarah Cannon Cancer Center for their compassionate and dedicated care during her cancer treatment.Pam was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and E. Faye Wilson; her ex-husband, David Gabbert; and her beloved pets Buddy, Jack, George, Snickers, Smokey, Squeaky, Sammy, and so many more.Pam is survived by her children, son Christopher "Bear" Gabbert of Pagosa Springs, CO, and daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Andrew Cook of Georgia; her brother Ed Wilson of Independence, MO, sister-in-law Becky Wilson of Independence MO, sister Jean Wilson of Kansas City, MO, and brother Chris Wilson and sister-in-law Rhonda Wilson of Cameron, MO. Pam is also survived by her nieces and nephews and their families: Daniel and Alia Wilson of Georgia; Alicia Wilson of Independence, MO; and Sarah, Trevor, and Beverly Stark of Cameron, MO. Pam is further survived by many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.A Celebration of Life and memorial picnic will be held Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at English Landing Park's East Shelter, 8701 McAfee St, Parkville, MO, 64152.
