Kevin Brady Baker

Kevin Brady Baker, 62, of Weston, MO, passed away on Feb 22nd, 2024. Brady was born on November 4th, 1961 to Robert “Bob” and Donna Baker in Leavenworth, KS. Brady graduated high school from Weston, MO and started his life in construction. Brady met Margo Ziegler in Weston and married her on April 8th, 1993. With the marriage he welcomed Margo’s two children into his heart and gave them love from the very beginning. The two lived happily together in Weston for their entire 31 year marriage. The Kernel, Brady’s nickname, was the first person to jump in and help a friend which resulted in a vast number of friends that “owed him a favor", even though he would seldom cash those in. Many stories can be told of Brady calling in an obscure favor at the last minute to get a project done, though rarely for himself, always for another friend. This was the heart of Brady! He was a gruff personality that never thought of himself, but always for the people around him first. Always willing to lend a hand, tool, piece of equipment, or some advice to someone in need as long as he knew it was going to a good person. He had an uncanny ability to see the good in everyone. We will all miss Brady’s loving and giving nature. Brady loved to spend time with his grandchildren. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July when everyone would get together in Weston to celebrate. Brady loved to throw Black Cats and make the grandkids giggle and run. His ornery laugh would let loose as he threw more firecrackers. Kernel enjoyed trying his chances at the slots and people watching at the casinos. He made many memories traveling with friends across the country. His love of children led to the purchase of a slushy machine which kids and adults from around the community enjoyed on hot days. Brady drank a lot of slushies along with them. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Haley’s Eatery, in Weston on March 2, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m..
