Kathryn "Kathy" Arnold

Kathryn “Kathy” Arnold, 64, of Liberty, MO, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love, and is now rejoicing in the presence of Christ. Born on January 4, 1961, in Kansas City, MO, to Janet and William Beaton, Kathy spent her early years in both Kansas City, MO, and Portland, OR. Of the two, Portland held a special place in her heart, where she found joy in visiting the coast, exploring Mt. Hood, and riding horses. In 1983, Kathy met the love of her life, Michael Arnold, and they were united in marriage on December 12, 1987. Together, they built a life filled with love and friendship, residing in Blue Springs, Oak Grove, and Independence, where they were surrounded by lifelong friends. Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose kindness and warmth touched everyone she met. She dedicated much of her career to caring for others, first as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later as a phlebotomist. Kathy’s compassion, laughter, and generosity were evident in all aspects of her life. She cherished family gatherings, especially a good BBQ, and found great joy in caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her unwavering love and presence will be deeply missed but forever felt. Kathy was welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband, Michael Arnold; daughter, Renee Marie Jackson; parents, Janet and William Beaton; and siblings, William Beaton Jr., Lee Roy Cooper, Barbara Cooper, and JoAnn Downey. She is survived by her children, Priscilla (Brandon) Manthei and Jonathan Beaton; grandchildren, Makenzie Manthei, Natalie Manthei, and Jonathan Beaton; siblings, Larna (Randy) Fisher, Michael (Carolyn) Beaton, and Debbie (Jim) Meier; niece, Robin (Brian) Hutson; nephew Chris (Sara) Beck as well as many other cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members. As we grieve our loss, we find peace in God’s promise: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." – Ephesians 2:8-9 A memorial service to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held at a later date in the summer or fall of 2025.
