Genevieve Marie Wise

GENEVIEVE M. WISE Genevieve Marie Wise, 94, of Kansas City, MO, died January 5, 2018. She was born May 6, 1923 in Hayden, Oklahoma. She was the middle child born to the union of Matt and Prudence Riley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Scott Wise II; sister and brother-in-law Homer and Esther Stroud; brother O'Dell Riley; one daughter, Charlotte D. Walker; a granddaughter, Lisa M. Henningson; a great-grandson, Sean Henningson; and her grandparents Alexander and Geneva Wright who assisted in raising her. She dedicated her life to Jehovah God for over 50 years. Genevieve married the love of her life, Charles Wise II and to this union five children were born. They were married for 58 years until his death. From Oklahoma, they relocated to Kansas City, Kansas in 1945 and then to Kansas City, Missouri in 1951. Genevieve worked for 32 years as a label manufacturer for Mendel's Clothing. She was a very talented cook and an accomplished seamstress. She loved spending time with family and friends and working crossword puzzles every day. Genevieve dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on November 5, 1966. She knew right away that she had found the truth. She and Charles were associated with various congregations over the years. She loved sharing her hope of living in Paradise with others. At the time of her death, she was a beloved, active Witness in the Country Club Congregation. She was known for her big heart and her genuine love for people. As her health declined, she developed a special fondness of sharing God's message by public and informal witnessing. She was truly an inspiration to all who knew her, many affectionately calling her "Genny" or "Mom". She loved fashion and wearing beautiful hats. She had an excellent sense of humor; and when she gave great advice, it was always on target. She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Charles S. Wise III (Evelyn) of McKinney, Texas; three daughters, Shirley A. Brooks, Norma J. Wise and Constance J. Wise Ford (Michael) all of Kansas City, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren: Bryan Keith Johnson (Crystal), Mark Wise (Sheila), Peter Rowden, Jeffery Rowden, Jazi Gersi, Lori Johnson Morse (Joseph), Darrin Greene (Sonya), Pamela Marley (Brent), Steven Greene (Jennifer), C. Scott Wise IV (Joan), Mia Wise, Heather Wise, Britton Wise (Vanessa); and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives; a very close friend and spiritual sister, 0llie James; and many spiritual friends who love her and will sorely miss her while she rests in Jehovah's memory, awaiting a resurrection. A memorial service will be held for Genevieve on Saturday, January 13 at 4 P.M.at the Country Club Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 901 E. 89th Street, Kansas City, MO.
