David Lee Wilson

David Lee Wilson, 75 of Independence Missouri passed away on 01/09/2026 peacefully, surrounded by family at Monterey Park in Independence Mo. David had a critical, high risk surgery in October 2025, that his body couldn't fully recover from. David was born on 12/09/1950 in Springfield Missouri. David quit high-school and he enlisted into the Marine Corps and he served for a short time. He served for 2 years and was discharged for forged signature of his mother and underage. David met and married Veryla Book and they had two sons Michael Wilson and Brian Wilson. That marriage was divorced. David had one more marriage with Debbie and divorced. David met his love in 1989 Antonette LoChiano and two bonus children (step daughters) Lacie and Alesha. They spent the rest of their lives together. David learned the trade/ career of a Mason, and he laid millions of bricks, blocks, and stones throughout his career. His hard work and legacy of one of the "best brick layers" that lives on, all throughout the Kansas City Metropolitan & surrounding areas, with Commercial business buildings, schools, hospitals, and residential clients homes (side jobs: retaining walls, fireplaces, fire pits, etc..) David also was a great carpet layer and carpet cleaner too. David was an excellent gardener. The biggest red ripe juiciest tomatoes, and his entire garden was very good. All of his family and friends loved his garden goodness. David loved to jam out to very loud music, and he had a great taste of music. David had a drum 🥁 set, and he played the drums very well, and mostly for fun. David was such a huge animal lover, very passionate about his family furr babies, and all animals in general. David was very comical and he had the best humor. He always acted quirky and silly, and he could make anyone laugh, smile, and put you in a good mood. David was a man of God, just stubborn and hard headed at times. David found it hard to show and express his love. Although, he did deeply loved his family and friends. He would give his last to anyone in need, and always a helpful hand in need. David really enjoyed getting into politics and he was always sharing his points of views. David enjoyed fishing, movies, watching sports,politics, and MUSIC. Always a simple man to say the least. David is survived by his ex-wife Veryla and two sons; Michael Wilson- two children Toni and Shelby; Brian Wilson- two children Jonathan and Abigaile, and two great grandchildren from Jonathan; Two bonus children Lacie(Scott) and Alesha(Joshua) and all of the families furr babies, nieces, nephew, cousins, and extended family. David is preceded in death by his parents, sister Wilma "Jean" Calivere, and his love Antonette LoChiano. A very special and heartfelt thank you to all of his caregivers- CNA's- RN's, especially a few to name that David grew to love, Grace, Mary, Josh, Kenney and others at Monterey Park. There will be no services at this time. Direct cremation, and the family is planning to have a Celebration of Life for David in the Spring (May) 2026. God our Father, Your power brings us to birth. Your Providence guides our lives, and by Your command we return to dust. Lord, those who die still live in your presence. Unite us together again in one family, to sing Your praise forever and ever 🙏 Bless those who mourn, eternal God, with the comfort of your love that they may face each new day with hope. May their memories become joyful, their days enriched by your love. Amen God looked around the garden and saw an empty space. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful for He only takes the best. A resting place along the road to sweet eternity. Fill not your hearts with pain or sorrow but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I've only gone to rest a little while.
