Danna Kay Behler

Danna Kay Behler, age 57, was born August 17, 1967, in Kansas City, MO. She passed away and went to be with Jesus on January 26, 2025, after battling brain cancer for 20 months. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the St. Luke's Medical Community, Dr. Jonathan Breshears and Dr. Samuel Goldlust and Lucie Blake for their wonderful care and expertise through this trying time. Thanks also for the loving care and kindness from the staff members and volunteers at St. Luke's Hospice House. Danna cared for her siblings in her early years and married at age 19. This union blessed her with three children Robbie, Crystal, and Kaylin. She loved to laugh, and her favorite thing was spending time with and caring for her grandchildren. Danna was a fan of thrift store shopping, Coca-Cola, and any type of holiday inflatable. She was an excellent cook and loved growing tomatoes. Her children and grandchildren affectionately referred to her as “Momma Duke” and “Grandma Duke.” She loved Taco Bell, apple pie and lots of dressing on anything she ate. Danna worked for Walmart Inc and McDonalds. Danna came to know Jesus and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior on September 18, 2024. She was prayed for diligently by hundreds of people as she fought her illness, and her family is comforted knowing her eternal resting place is in Heaven. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” -John 14:27 Danna is survived by her three children: Robert Christopher Behler II, Crystal Dawn Loomis (Ryan Lynn), and Kaylin Aston Thompson (Travis Owen); eight grandchildren: Sadie Jo Behler, Ackalyn Kay King, Braydon Jayce Behler, Chase Ryan Loomis, Chloe Rose Thompson, Emmie Kate Thompson, Halle June Thompson, and Silas Owen Thompson. She also leaves behind six siblings Dawn Marie Conatser, Larry Dean Drummond, Dee Dee Lynn Drummond, Donald Alvin Hicklin, Larry Wayne Hicklin, and Rose Marie Baker. She is also survived by her father Larry Dean Drummond Sr. Danna was preceded in death by her grandparents and by her mother Connie Gaile Burton (maiden- Grigsby) and her father Donald Alvin Hicklin. Service Information: A Service of Thanksgiving for Danna’s life will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Raintree Community Church, 101 SW Raintree Drive, Lee’s Summit, MO 64082. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm and the Service will begin at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Luke's Hospice House or Raintree Community Church are appreciated in Danna’s memory.
