Chase Randall Curtis

Chase Randall Curtis, 30, of Kansas City, MO died on Sunday, October 26, 2025, following a long illness with liver disease at Saint Luke’s Hospital Plaza. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend surrounded by his family and many childhood friends. Chase was born on June 14, 1995. As a young boy he loved football, baseball, karate, fishing, boating, skateboarding and all outdoor sports. He grew up a life-long Kansas City Chief’s fan. He enjoyed attending games over the years with his Dad, Uncle Dan, Uncle Steve and cousin Logan. He graduated from Grandview High School in 2013. Immediately following, he received his fork-lift certification, which led him to be part of the team that built the new KCI Airport. He also held jobs as a traveling telecommunications tower climber and an electrician. Although Chase never married or had children, he had two main loves in his life. His first love and high school sweetheart Sabrina (Barrett) Royal and later Cheyeanne Porter and her two daughters, Brook and Callie. Chase is survived by his parents Kim (Brookhart) and Steve Curtis; paternal grandmother Marilyn Curtis; sister Mackenzie (Kenzie) Curtis and partner Jai Daniels, niece Araya and nephew Kade; uncles and aunts Dan and Brenda Brookhart and their daughter Allison and son Logan; Steve and Julie Brookhart, and their two daughters Rachel and Riley; Scott and Molly Curtis and their son Blake and wife Brenna, and their daughter Stacey and her husband Paul, along with their young families). He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents Sue and Otto Debes; great-grandmother Augusta Curtis; grandparents Larry and Donna Brookhart, grandfather Phil Curtis, cousin Christopher Kasparek and several friends. Chase enjoyed helping others--from family and friends to total strangers. His love for his sister Kenzie’s two children-–nephew Kade and niece Araya–was unmatched. He formed a strong fatherly bond with Kade. He loved to take Kade to his barber to get matching haircuts. The two also shared their love of candy--with Twix being the favorite. Chase’s last act of giving was to serve as an organ donor. He has already saved two young men with his kidneys. His heart valves, corneas, and skin/bone tissue will enhance and impact many more lives. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, 1 to 3 pm at The View Community Center, 13500 Byars Road, Grandview, MO 64030 (Chiefs attire is welcome.) The family wishes to thank the hard-working, dedicated nurses, doctors and all staff at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Truman Medical Center, and Saint Joseph Medical Center.
