Bradley D. "Brad" Becker

Bradley D. “Brad” Becker, 72, of Grandview, Missouri passed away on May 22, 2026, after living with a lung disease for three years. He passed away peacefully at home, with his wife, Diane, holding his hand. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diane “Di” Becker, and their son, Brad Becker, Jr. Brad grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Center High School. Although he and Diane attended different schools, they were introduced by one of Brad’s very close friends. They married shortly after high school and Brad shared the rest of his life lovingly devoted to Diane and their family. He spent his entire career as a carpet installer, a profession he took great pride in. He was known for his skill and craftsmanship in the trade, retiring after 45 years. Becoming a father was one of Brad‘s greatest joys. He cherished the time he spent with his son, cheering him on in the many sports he played and, from a young age, encouraging his growing interest in the guitar. They later worked together side-by-side in the carpet business, creating a partnership and further deepening their lifelong bond. Outside of work, Brad had many interests. Motocross was one of his great passions in his 20s, and he spent many weekends competing on local dirt tracks. Brad enjoyed bowling, playing golf, cooking, and riding his Harley for pleasure and charity events, many of which he shared with Diane. When disease progression made it impossible for him to ride his Harley, he bought motorized wheelchairs and loaded up his oxygen so that he and Di could continue spending as much time together as possible. They shared hours together on long rides through their neighborhood, city and park trails, the zoo, and the Arboretum, enjoying nature and their time together. Brad was known for his kindness and caring nature, always ready to help family and friends when needed. An animal lover, he shared his home with many rescued dogs and cats brought home by Di over the years. Sam, the family cat was his final four-legged companion, and was always close by. Brad was a loving husband and father, and a caring uncle, brother-in-law, and friend. He will be missed by many. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. The family would like to thank his nurse, Rebecca, from Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care for her in-home visits the last three months of Brad’s life. I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to cry, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of the day. Since my parting will leave a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes, these things I too will miss. My life’s been filled, I’ve savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time was all too brief, Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now, he set me free.
