Angelua "Angie" Renee Wester

Angelua "Angie" Renee Wester, 58, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Angie Wester was born on July 31, 1963, to Lee and Kathy Fobian (Muse) in Ottumwa, Iowa. She graduated from Independence High School in 1981. Angie married Samuel Odus Wester on February 5, 1982, in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple were married 25 years and remained good friends. Angie maintained a close relationship with her in-laws throughout her life. Angie attended Independence Community College Cosmetology School and ran a hair salon in Independence, Kansas before moving to Texas in 1991. She subsequently lived in California and Alaska before returning to Kansas. Angie was a dedicated mother and homemaker, first and foremost. She loved her sons with all her heart and embraced every moment with them. She had a flair for cooking and her family especially enjoyed her famous fish fries and fried chicken. She was a loyal daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She lit up the room with her beauty, smile, and vivacious personality. She always made people around her laugh with her honest humor, witty quips, and animated stories. She made friends everywhere she went and was always the first one to arrive and offer support to family and friends who needed her. All her good deeds came back to reward her when she had to fight for her life 25 years ago. The love and support she received from family and friends rallied her body as she beat the odds to survive toxic shock syndrome. She returned home to see her boys grow into accomplished young men. Those left to cherish her memory are father Lee Fobian of Elk City, KS; former husband Sam Wester of Argyle, TX; son Sam Wester of Champaign, IL; son Jacob Wester of Overland Park, KS; former father-in-law Sam Wester of Haskell, TX; sister Natalie (Stephen) Wilks of Overland Park, KS; brother Russell Fobian of Haviland, KS; brother Eric Fobian of Kansas; nephew Matthew Lindsay of San Diego, CA; nephew Jackson Lindsay of Overland Park, KS; aunt Charlotte Muse of Independence, KS and numerous loving cousins with whom she had cherished memories while growing up. Beloved family members who preceded her in death include mother Kathy Fobian, grandfather Earl Baxter, grandmother Willeyene Baxter, former mother-in-law Nina Wester, grandfather Alfred Fobian, and many uncles and aunts with whom she shared a special bond.
